01Industrial

Industrial electrical work, scheduled around production.

Don't let electrical issues stop the productivity of your industry. Brandon Electric handles repair, installation and service panel upgrades for plants across Oakland and Macomb County, and we respond to calls and emails the next day.

02How the work runs

Where industrial downtime actually starts

A plant rarely stops because of the machine everyone is looking at. It stops upstream of it, at a feeder that has been running warm for a year, at a service panel that was sized for the floor plan before the last two lines went in, or at a motor circuit that trips a little earlier every month until it stops resetting at all.

So the first question on an industrial call is not what failed. It is what the building is being asked to carry now, compared with what it was wired to carry then. That answer usually explains the fault, and it also tells you whether you are buying a repair or buying another six months.

Troubleshooting a live plant without stopping the line

Downtime due to electrical breakdown may bring tremendous loss for your business. That is the whole reason industrial work is different: the diagnosis has to happen around production, not instead of it.

In practice that means isolating what can be isolated, testing under the load that actually causes the fault rather than a convenient one, and scheduling the part that genuinely needs the line down into a window you choose. Call us to troubleshoot any of your industrial electrical problems, and we will tell you honestly which part of the job needs the floor quiet and which part does not.

Service panel upgrades, before the next line goes in

Most industrial panels we open were correct on the day they were closed. What changed is everything plugged into them. When a panel has no spare positions left, the temptation is to squeeze one more circuit in beside the others, and that is how a distribution board ends up carrying loads nobody ever calculated.

Upgrading the service is the unglamorous version of this job and usually the right one. It is also the version that stops you paying an electrician to attend the same intermittent fault three times.

Parking lot and yard lighting as a shift-safety system

For a site running more than one shift, the lot is part of the plant. People arrive and leave in the dark for a good part of the Michigan year, and forklifts, trailers and foot traffic share the same ground.

We install and repair parking lot lighting, security lighting and the underground runs that feed them. Laid out properly it is about coverage and the absence of dark gaps between poles, not about how many fixtures are on the invoice.

Standby power for sites where an outage is measured in money

Generator installation is one of our listed services, and on an industrial site the sizing conversation matters more than the generator does. What has to stay up? The whole plant, or the systems that make restarting the plant cheap?

Answering that first is what keeps a standby installation proportionate. Trust our master electricians, who get the job done right.
